Oats Raisin Cookies

Looking for something crunchy, sweet and spicy? Well I recommend this healthy and nutritious Oats Raisins cookies.  It's a perfect, easy and wholesome snack for teatime. Those who doesn't prefer bland taste of oatmeal were suggested to have creative ways of consuming it. Oatmeal are known to reduce cholesterol level in our blood system.  Most of the goodness still remains in a cookie. The health benefits further enhanced by adding dried fruits such as raisins. Even children would love it. 

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup instant oats
  • 100 g raisins
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup superfine flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder
  • 1/4 tsp ginger powder

Preparation:
  1. Cream butter and sugar till fluffy. 
  2. Add vanilla essence and an egg and mix well.
  3. Meanwhile roast the oats in the oven for 7 minutes or more if needed
  4. Add sieved flour with cinnamon and nutmeg powder in three batches to well combine.
  5. Finally add raisins, walnuts and roasted oats together.
  6. Keep in the chiller for 2 hours before baking.  
  7. Scoop a spoonful dough with a spoon onto prepared lined baking baking tray and bake for 20 minutes for 180 Degrees. Make sure to leave space in between.
